Geocache Description:

This is a small cache hidden at Paul Rogers Wildlife Park. http://www.ci.ellensburg.wa.us/index.aspx?nid=359
It's hidden in the parking lot/trailhead area.

This geocache is named in honor of the late "Schultz" who was a German Shepherd dog owned by a friend. This friend introduced me to this hidden park, and I often accompanied her and Schultz on their evening walks. Sadly, He passed away several years ago. Now, we walk our own rescue dog out here.

"Congrats to Bassline89 for being the FTF!"

To get here you: Go East on University Way until it turns into the Vantage Hwy. Take a Left on N. Pfenning Road (by Knudson's lumber) and then take a Right on Judge Ronald Road. The Park will be on your right.

Paul Roger's Wildlife Park is 20 acres with gravel pathways. The trails are uneven, so not accessible to wheels, and there can be flooding in some areas in the Spring. Lots of wildlife out here to see and listen to - birds, rabbits, snake...and the lingering scent of the friendly, neighborhood skunk nearby.

This park is outside of town, but is owned and maintained by the City of Ellensburg. It's open year-round, though, you may find the parking area gate closed during the week to discourage naughty teenagers who like to come out here when they are skipping a class or two (tssk-tsk). Leash laws apply here, and don't forget to pick up the poopy!

There was a cache hidden here several years ago, but it was off-trail and near some nests. Please respect that this is a wildlife park dedicated to the native species of the Valley, so It's best to stay on the trail.

It's a nice place to take a leisurely stroll with the family and pooches anytime of the year.
