We made this half day tour with our children. In Haldumulla is a
little black board showing the shortcut to an ancient place. Locals
call this place Balla Kotta or Katukogalla. Following this steps
and forest path it´s less than 1 km to the Fort.
Cause we came by 3wheelers we took the Needwood Estate road at
A4 km-post 176. We drove up the approx. 4 km road to the Needwood
tea factory. Behind are some bad roads forwarding to the forest
area. Watch our waypoint details. There was no parking lot but
enough space to keep our wheelers at the side. Bikers should be
able to follow this road to the Fort. The Fort area is a square of
simple stone walls surrounded by a moat. We couldn´t find any
special signs like roman letters or numbers to identify this place.
Follow your way to the entrance at the eastside of this Fort.
The cache is outside the Fort area to avoid any disturbance at
this ancient place. We placed it in a safe corner so that no any
Fort visitors can observe you. Our cache contains a logbook, pen,
welcome message and trade items.
Should you visit one of our Eaglerocks caches and find our blue
beetle mascot Jimmy-Blue please help him to traval around our
caches. This cache has enough place for him.
Be carefully when you walk around in the pines tree forest. The
area is steap, the pines needles are slippery.
