General Wade series 2 - cache 7
The cache is a lock and lock sandwitch container with log book, pencil and some stuff.
This is the end of the road for now, the modern A9 takes over for a few miles then relinquishes command at Tomatin for a short spell.
Although this is the last in the sequential series (starting at Scatraig), I hope that you did not miss out on a wonderful walk across the now varied texture route of General Wades military road.
When placing this series of caches, I took into consideration the fact that many cachers are not easily able to cover the distance in one go. So I have included the positions of a further three possible starting locations along the route. That not withstanding, a couple of the caches still require you to cross some short stretches of boggy open moorland.
Note: There was a JCB and a couple of piles of graded stones filling the car park when I set this cache, hopefully gone by now, but you can still park behind the gate to the left of the cattle grid. Take great care when returning to the A9.
Special note: Please do not cross into areas where there are warning signs and barriers up during harvesting times.
