A good walk with a pub at each end.
Timmy the GeoPup loves his morning walks and this one is a cracker – nearly all off road and through a good mix of woods and open fields. Each cache is named after one of Timmy’s favourite things...
The caches mark out the route, there’s a “bone-us” cache at the end and a mystery waypoint at half way – collect the clues along the way to find them. Most of the clues are repeated along the way so you should be OK even with one or two DNFs. No pens in the caches so you’ll need to bring your own. It can get pretty muddy at times, wellies or walking boots recommended!
Parking at or near the pub N51°07.175’ W000°37.365’ at the start of the route. Total trail: 15 caches plus one bonus, 6.1 miles, approx 2.5 to 3 hours.
THIS CACHE: Press on through the first short stretch of rubbish and mud (difficulty rating up due to heavy mud at times!) and you’ll get to the start of the nice woods, with a winding stream to keep you company. There’s a good geography lesson here - some major trees recently fallen as the banks have eroded. Loads of invasive Himalayan Balsam along the stream too - white/pink orchid-like flowers in summer.
