Dieser Cache ist der Auftakt einer Serie, die Michael Ende gewidmet ist – berühmter Garmischer Schriftsteller und Verfasser des Buches „Die unendliche Geschichte“. Die Dosen dieser Serie tragen ausschließlich Namen, die in dieser Geschichte vorkommen.
Die Dose führt Euch zur Gamshütte. Es gibt viele Wege dorthin, aber einer der schönsten führt durch den Schalmeiweg, der fast so märchenhaft ist wie die unendliche Geschichte, und durch das anschließende Schalmeital.
Die Gamshütte ist ganzjährig geöffnet, und man kann dort gut einkehren. Ruhetag ist montags.

Ein paar Parkplätze gibt es auch an dieser Stelle. Bei sehr schönem Wanderwetter sind sie jedoch schnell belegt. Die enge Straße noch weiter rauf zu fahren, ist nicht empfehlenswert. Dort kann man kaum noch parken und verpasst es außerdem, den kurzen, wunderschönen Schalmeiweg zu Fuß entlang zu gehen.
Feste Schuhe sind ein Muss.
Stöcke sind im Winter sehr empfehlenswert. Die Wege können im Winter sehr glatt sein und sind weder geräumt noch gestreut. Nehmt im Winter oder bei regennassen Wegen keine kleineren Kinder mit auf diese Strecke. Nehmt dann lieber den längeren Weg außen herum.
Notiert die Bonuszahl A aus dem Logbuch. Der Bonus heißt AURYN und erfordert 4 Dosenfunde.

This cache starts a series dedicated to Michael Ende – a famous Garmish writer and author of “The Neverending Story”. The caches of the series have therefore names that can be found in this story.
The cache leads you to the mountain hut “Gamshuette”. There’s more than one trail, but one of the nicests leads through the street “Schalmeiweg” and the following Schalmei valley. Schalmeiweg is almost as fairytale-like as the Neverending Story.
Gamshuette is open all-season, except on Mondays. They serve food and drinks.

From there go to the direction of

E 11° 07.097’
There you will find a very small parking lot as well. However, if we have very nice hiking weather, the few parking spaces are taken soon. Don’t drive further on the narrow road! You would hardly find a parking space and you would miss to walk on the short and wonderful Schalmeiweg.
Hiking shoes are a must.
Walking poles are highly recommended in winter. The trails can be very slippery and are neither cleared nor strewn. Don’t take small children with you in winter or when the trails are wet. Prefer the longer trail externally around then.
Note bonus number A which you find in the log book. The bonus is named AURYN and requires 4 cache founds.
