Finally! A cache in Cache Glades!
How could there NOT be a cache here?
Probably a really tough hike in the summer, but not too bad to get to on skis or a snowboard.
I named this one in memory of my late grandfather (his initials were P.M.), who probably wouldn't have liked skiing, but he would have loved geocaching. He helped train English pilots during WWII, and he also worked on some of the earliest radar systems. I really think the navigation connection, along with the imagination that goes into making containers and hiding them, would have really turned him on.
As the name suggests, the cache is hidden on Cache Glades. It's fairly easy to get to, but finishing the run from the cache site is a very steep, bumpy ride. The slope is rated a black diamond, but my guess is, if it were much longer, it could rate a double -- at least in some places. The tree cover is fairly thick, but I averaged the waypoint three times over the space of about five hours, so the coordinates should be close.
You're looking for a container hanging on a tree at about chest level. Please screw the cap back on tight enough to keep the water out, but not so tight that the next guy can't get it open. There's a small log-retrieval tool in the container, which could come in very handy. Please try not to drop it.
Bring your own pen.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ESTES01 FOR THE FTF!
