THIS IS NOT A PARK AND GRAB! HapyHunter started a GRH series.
His
first one read, “This is a Guard Rail Hide. These are
tributes to Dr Hogg's grim series. Grim standing for
Guardrail
Madness. I think Dr. Hogg has over 200 of them in the Waco,
Tx
area.” I decided to continue his series, but in this
series
GRH will stand for Guard Rail Hike. Again, THESE ARE NOT PARK
AND
GRABS. You MUST park your car at one of the locations shown
below
and walk behind the guard rail to get them. THE GUARD RAIL ON
5th
AVENUE IS AT THE CURB LINE! There is
“miscellaneous”
asphalt (so called on FDOT details) you can walk on behind
the
guard rail. You can not stop on the pavement, unless you have
a
death wish. Parking is available south of Oslo Road on 58th
Avenue,
or on 5th St. SW, 1st St. SW, 4th St., 8th St. and 12th St.
all
east of the canal. You could team up and use two vehicles,
parking
one at one end and driving to the other to begin a 2.5 mile
hike,
if you park at 12th St. and drive to Oslo Road. Or you can do
these
in stages. There is an FTF travel bug in one of the hides that
I
found in one of HapyHunter's GRH's. You must move it along by
placing it in a new hide for the next FTF. Note that the terrain
is
rated 2 because you have to step over the guard rail at the
street
intersections. It is a smooth, level walk other than that.
Have
fun, up your smiley count and enjoy the walk!
Finally, a thank you to the Indian River Soil and Conservation
district for allowing me to place the caches on their property.
