Geocache Description:

Welcome to Longleaf Pine Preserve!

I highly recommend a bike or horse to reach this cache as it's a pretty long hike from the parking area. Bring plenty of water. Cell phone reception was pretty good, so you have a lifeline in case of an emergency.

Terrain is level, but parts of it are very rough. The first three miles should be easy...it's the last mile that will be the challenge.

When I was out here with Survivor Florida (a.k.a. poosu) back in May 2008, we missed this turn to the West and continued South...taking us off the trail. See our 5/6/2008 logs for GC1BJFF for the full story. If anyone else finds themselves out here, hopefully having the cache here will prevent them from missing the turn.

The container which holds the log was a 'gift' from team supermeg33. The original hide I used that container for was archived...but I kept the container to hide again. It wouldn't survive out here all alone, so I put it in a larger container to shelter it from the elements.

There should be a FTF $ and a pen in this one.
