Yockanookany Wildlife Management Area
This Geocaching Trail is located in the Yockanookany WMA and can be accessed by hiking, but an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) is preferable. The terrain has a difficulty of five and most of the year there are mud holes and water to navigate. It is recommended to use the buddy system to search for these caches.
All cachers must carry on their person an Annual, Individual, or Family Wildlife Management Area User Permit, while using any Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks Wildlife Management Area.
Also, a Daily Visitor Use Permit Card is required. You can find the Daily Visitor Use Permit Cards at permit stations located at, or near, entrances to all of Mississippi’s WMA’s.
The correct procedure is simple:
• Extract a Daily Visitor Use Permit Card from a Daily Visitor Permit Station on the WMA.
• Complete the front and back of part A and place it in the box at the Visitor Permit Station.
• Complete the front of part B and place it on the dash of your vehicle in plain sight or carry it on your person (depending on instructions in area regulations) while using the area.
• When finished on the area, complete the back side of part B and place in the box at the Visitor Permit Station.
