Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the coords above. But you may have to visit this location physically, or "virtually" in order to work out where the cache actually is.
CAUTION: Although not as difficult terrain as the original North Stack cache (sadly archived due to frequent muggling!) - be very careful with junior cachers and geo-pets, as the paths are steep and the drops are big.

The cache may be approached from either the South Stack car parks, or from the Breakwater Country Park. However, for safety reasons we have included a waypoint (N53 19.213, W004 40.727) - coast path marker, to help locate the correct path, as a direct approach may end in tears!

When at the waypoint, head off down the obvious gully to the viewpoint at the published coords above. AGAIN - BE CAREFUL!!
From this viewpoint, to the north, you can see North Stack island and the shear cliffs of Parliament House - The Bells! The Bells! etc.
In the other direction you can see South Stack with it's lighthouse.
Closer to home, you get a great view of Wen Slab - a fantastic piece of rock architecture where you often find rock climbers inching their way up and across its many features.
After taking in the view, if you were to take a dram or two and close your eyes it's likely you would see three stars. If you were to take a dram or two more, you may fall asleep and coloured creatures would fill your mind.
Make the connection and replace the missing coords below to find the cache.
N53 19.AB, W004 40.CD

A = 6th x 3, B = 4th - 8th, C = 2nd, D = 7th.

North Stack:

North Stack is a redundant Fog Signal station of local historic significance. The house and buildings date back 200 years.

It faces S.W. and you can look across the magnificent Gogarth Bay towards South Stack Lighthouse (now open to the public) and the R.S.P.B Nature Reserve. The mountain is an interesting place to explore, with two caches of its own. There are several ancient sites including the remains of a Roman Fort on the summit and a well preserved collection of Neolithic Hut Circles. The flora and bird life are at their height during the months of April to July - the Chough and Peregrine Falcon and at South Stack, Puffin, are among the rarer species to be seen.
