1:00pm to 4:00pm
This event is held on
Earth Day which is Friday, April 22nd. Volunteers need to meet at
Lake Springfield Southwood access point located just past the
Veterans Cemetery to start the cleanup at 1:00pm.
There will also be a shoreline cleanup for those of you that would
prefer to stay on land. Snacks, a limited amount of canoes, gloves
and trash bags will be provided.
You must call or email Melissa Bettes at 417 836-4847, or
melissabettes@missouristate.edu to register for the event and/or
reserve a canoe. Please also post a "Will Attend" note if you are
planning on being there.
Remember there are
only a limited amount of canoes available so register soon and tell
all your friends about Earth Day.
We encourage you to
bring your own canoe or kayak if possible.
If you have early spring canoeing experience we invite you to help
cleanup a section on the James from Crighton Access to Southwood
Access approximately 4.75 miles. Transportation to and from the
Crighton Access with be provided.
