Geocache Description:

Its that time of year again... The when is it getting published emails.... :)

This years gathering falls on the weekend of 12/13/14 August. (This should be the last weekend of the school holidays throughout Scotland)

As before, Scott Lodge will be available from the Friday evening until around noon on the Sunday, with the main event being the Saturday night BBQ (timings will follow closer to the date)

LOCATION
Situated in the Angus Glens, the Glen Clova/Glen Doll area lies on the edge of Cairngorm National Park. Around 15 miles from the nearest shops and 10 miles from a low level mobile signal (you MAY get a signal up a hill but no guarantees), Scott Lodge lies in the shadow of the Munro Driesh. There are plenty of caches on the doorstep of Scott Lodge suitable for all. Gentle forest walks following the White Water and the River South Esk or for the more energetic high level hillwalks following ancient drove roads which will take you to some of the most spectacular scenery seen in Scotland. There are also caches on the way into the glens and in and around some of the pretty towns and villages you pass through on the way.
Scott Lodge is a 30/40minute drive through spectacular scenery from the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road.

SCOTT LODGE
Scott Lodge is a purpose built outdoor centre built by the Boys Brigade. Situated in 2000 square metres of private ground on the east bank of the River South Esk just downstream of the car park and ranger station at the head of the glen.
In recent years it has been refurbished to a high standard with a well equipped kitchen, hot showers, drying room etc. The lodge is suitable for disabled persons with ramps/disabled toilet/shower etc.
Sleeping accommodation is in a dormitory with 24 beds (you will need sleeping bags and pillows). We have permission for camping on the small area behind the building.

Thanks to a generous donation from Mega Scotland most of the hire cost of Scott Lodge has been paid already. We will be making a nominal charge of £2 per bunk or £2 per tent to pay for utilites etc. for the whole weekend.

We will also be making a small charge of £2 a head for the BBQ to offset costs. Any excess money will go towards deposit for next year.

Please let us know in your log how many bunks you require or if you will be camping
