Prírodní památka Dubolka je soustava trí izolovaných cedicových pahorku sopecného puvodu nalézajících se v polích mezi obcemi Oharice a Drstekryje v okrese Jicín.
Jedná se o témer nenavštevované místo, coz neznamená, ze by nemelo své kouzlo. Nebudete tu mít sice pocit, jako kdyz budete stát pod Stomboli, ale najdete tu zajímavé pozustatky neovulkanické cinnosti v Cechách.

Hlavní vulkanická centra se v Ceském masivu soustredují zvlášte v severozápadních Cechách (Doupovské hory, Ceské stredohorí) a pri labské tektonické zóne.
Menší centra neovulkanitu a ojedinelé vulkány jsou však rozptýleny témer po celé severní cásti Ceského masivu a lze je sledovat z Bavorska (Horní Falc) pres Luzici az do Slezska. A práve Dubolka je jedním z nich.
Poloha Ceskeho masivu v Evrope je cervene zakrouzkována na obrázku nize.

Cesky masiv



Geologie
Nad západní cástí geomorfologického okrsku Jicínská kotlina se nalézají tri vyvýseniny slozené z neogenních cedicových vulkanitu.
Nejvyssí je jizní útvar Dubolka (379,9 m n. m.) tvorený cedicem. Kámen se zde dobýval v jámovém lomu jeste v prvních desetiletích 20. století.
Severne od Dubolky, smerem k silnici, se tycí dve méne výrazné elevace. Západní kopec Spicák (366 m n. m.) a bezejmenou východní skalku (350 m n. m.) taktéz tvorí bazaltoidní neovulkanity (limburgit a brekcie).
Poloha všech trí vyvýsenin je dobre vydet na mape níze. Také si povsimnete blizkosti dalsích dvou neovulkanitu - Housera a Svaté Anny.

Vetsina kopcu vulkanického puvodu v oblasti Jicínského vulkanického pole byla izolovanými sopkami - viz. obrázek níze.
Dubolka, Svatá Anna a Houser vsak tvorily jednu soustavu.

Geomorfologie
Pozustatky solitérních sopek v severovýchodních Cechách byly nove interpretovány jako zbytky struskových kuzelu a jejich prívodních drah. Strombolské erupce bazanitového magmatu vytvorily radu kuzelu rozesetých po dané oblasti. Vulkány vznikaly strombolskými a freatomagmatickými erupcemi, vetsinou bez produkce lávových proudu. Vulkanická aktivita probíhala hlavne v období miocénu (24.6–16.5 Ma).
Intenzita eroze jednotlivých teles závisí na geomorfologické pozici. Zde jsou zachovány nespecené, spatne zvrstvené strusky - viz. obrázek.

Anatomie vzniku sopecného kuzele Dubolka
Pocátecní fáze vzniku sopecného kuzele je casto spojována s interakcí vody a magmatu.
Tato pocátecní událost se skládá z jednoho nebo nekolika výbuchu a ukládání vyvrelé horniny do jedné nebo více vrstev - viz. obrázek.
Pokracující explozivní cinnost, která je rízená výhradne magmatickými plyny, buduje vlastní kuzel. Vrchní vrstvy jsou obycejne nespeceny.

Struskové kuzely jsou nepochybne nejhojnejsí formou vulkanické cinnosti na Zemi. Jejich relativne jednoduchá architektura nikdy nepritahovala vetsí pozornost vedcu. Krome toho struskové kuzele pomerne rychle erodují a bývají hloubeji studovány pouze u velmi mladých nebo aktivní zón.

Pokud zaparkujete na doporucených souradnicích, celkem pohodlne se po polní ceste dostanete na výchozí souradnice. Tam se nachází vstup do lomu a tabule.

Pro uznání logu musíte zodpovedet nasledující otazky a odpovedi zaslat emailem skrze muj profil gogo CZ .

a) Jaká je nadmorská výska na výchozích souradnicích u tabule?
b) Budete-li pokracovat dále po ceste smerem do lomu, prijdete po cca 50-ti metrech k jezírku (je videt na poslední fotografii). Rozhlédnete se a pokuste se identifikovat zbytky sopecného kuzele. Poznáte je podle struktury a barvy. Kterým smerem (mereno od jezirka) se podle Vaseho názoru nacházejí nejvýraznejsí zbytky vyvrelé strusky?
c) Zbytky sopecných kuzelu mohou být ruznobarevné - od cervené pres hnedou az do cerna. Jakou barvu strusky jste videli na Dubolce?

Logovat muzete bez naseho potvrzení. Bude-li s Vasimi odpovedmi neco v neporadku, ozveme se. Dodrzujte prosím poradí, nejdrive odpovedi, potom log. Logy bez predchozicho zaslani odpovedi budou smazany.

Pri odlovu se budete pohybovat v bývalém lomu, tak opatrne. Lom je sice pruchozí a prohlídka urcite stojí za to, ale jak uz z listingu víte, tyhle sopecné horniny rády rychle erodují. Vstup jen na vlastní nebezpecí.

Natural Monument Dubolka is a system of three isolated volcanic hills which you can find in the fields between the villages Oharice and Drstekryje in the Jicin district.
It is a lonely place but it does not mean that it is a place without glamour. You will not be feeling here as if you are standing under Stomboli, but you can find here interesting relicts of volcanic activity in Bohemia.

Major volcanic centers are concentrated in the Bohemian Massif particularly in northwestern Bohemia (Doupov Mountains, Ceske Stredohori) and along the Elbe River tectonic zone.
Smaller centers of neovolcans and solitary volcanoes are spread almost over all the northern part of the Bohemian Massif - volcanoes can be monitored from Bavaria through Lusatia and Silesia. Well, Dubolka is one of them.

Geology
There are three elevations composed of Neogene volcanic basalt in the western part of the geomorphological district Jicinska Kotlina.
The highest basalt hill is the south one. It is called Dubolka (379.9 m asl) and was used as a stone pit during the first decades of the 20 century.

Northly to Dubolka, toward the road, rises two less significant elevation. The west hill called Spicak (366 m asl) and a nameless Eastern rock-garden (350 m asl) also make basaltoid neovolcanits (limburgit and breccias).
Location of the all three hills are well seen in the map - see the second picture. Pay attention to the proximity of the other two neovolcans - Houser and Svata Anna.

Most of the volcanic hills in the Jicin Volcanic Field were isolated volcanoes - see the third picture.
But Dubolka, Svatá Anna and Houser were formed in a single system.

Geomorphology
Relics of solitary volcanic edifices in NE Bohemia were newly interpreted as remnants of scoria cones and their conduits.
Volcanic activity in this area occurred in a form of scattered Strombolian eruptions of basanitic magmas mostly ascending along E–W trending faults. Volcanoes erupted in similar style, Strombolian, mostly not producing larger lava flows. This volcanic activity took place mainly during Miocene (24.6–16.5 Ma).

The older Strombolian cones are relatively weakly affected by weathering processes. The erosional level at individual sites depends on geomorphology. Here non-welded, poorly stratified scoriae are well preserved - see the fourth picture.

Anatomy of a common cinder cone Dubolka
The initial phase is often associated with water/magma interaction.
This initial event consists of a single or several eruptions, depositing single or several non-stratified beds - see the fifth picture.
The continuing explosive activity, driven solely by magmatic gases, builds the proper cone.
The upper crater facies are commonly non-welded, but locally, they may be also welded.

The cinder, respectively scoria cone, is undoubtedly the most abundant subaerial volcanic form on the Earth. The relatively simple architecture of these forms never attracted attention of scientists, as much as the complex volcanoes have. Moreover, cinder cones are only scarcely preserved in ancient volcanic successions. Their small and weak bodies are commonly very rapidly eroded. The architecture and facies of cinder cones were studied in very young or active zones.

If you park your car at the recommended coordinates, you can walk quite comfortably to the leads coordinates. There is the entrance to the quarry and an information board.

To claim this cache you must send answers to the following questions to my profile gogo CZ .

a) On the board you can read a small info about the place where you are standing. Where are you standing?
b) If you go along the road towards the quarry, after about 50 meters you will come to the small lake (you can see it at the last photo). Look around and try to identify remnants of the scoria cone. You can recognize them by structure and color. Measure the direction or azimuth of the place (measured from the lake), where you can see the most significant volcanic remnants - cinder.
c) Remnants of volcanic cones can have different colors - from red to brown, from brown to black..... What color of the cinder you can see at Dubolka?

You can log the cache without my confirmation but you should send me answers before. If there is anything wrong with your answers I will let you know. Logs without sending answers will be deleted.

During your hunt you will move in the old quarry, so be careful. Although the quarry is accessible and the visit is worth it, as you know from the listing, volcanic rocks like to erode quickly. Enter at your own risk.
