Raposeira Traditional Cache

O miradouro da Raposeira, na Fajã da Ovelha, fica sobranceiro ao Paul do Mar.
A origem do nome desta freguesia: Fajã da Ovelha, crê-se que se deve ao facto de, em tempos, algum pastor ter perdido uma ovelha na fajã – uma espécie de plataforma que, neste caso, a sedimentação dos tempos permitiu a sua utilização pelo homem - e que episódios como este teriam originado o nome da freguesia tal como hoje a conhecemos.

The origin of this parish: Fajã the Sheep, is believed to be due to the fact that, in time, some shepherd had lost a sheep in the cliff - a kind of platform, in this case, the sedimentation of time allowed for its use by humans - and that episodes like this would have caused the name of the parish as we know it today.
