Geocache Description:

A Magnetic keyholder .

Original description

The location is in front of an iconic building in which I currently work.

This iconic building is the only remaining building from the Columbian Exposition of 1893 in this area of Chicago.

View not far from the cache.

This building was at the southern point of the Exposition. The building housed the Palace of Fine Arts during the Exposition. The Field Museum now located near downtown Chicago was the next museum to occupy this building from 1893 to 1921. The building was empty from 1921 until 1926 and fell into disrepair as the buildings of the World Exposition were not built to last as the walls were made from plaster. In 1926 Julius Rosenwald starting the process to return the building to its former glory. The newly refurbished building opened in 1933. The only addition to the original building is on the southeast corner of the building.

Also, please visit the other caches in the nearby area as this area was all part of the land used for the Columbian Exposition of 1893.

This is my first hide - Enjoy the hunt for this cache.
