What is a Swamp Fox? Traditional Cache

This cache has limited hours (the gate is locked at certain times). Typically, the gates open at 6:00am and non-students are asked to leave by 9:30pm. Gates are locked shortly after that time. The same hours apply to the weekends and weekdays.

Have you ever wondered why schools and teams pick certain mascots? I can't tell you why the Swamp Foxes were picked as the mascot, but I can tell you that there are several legends about what a Swamp Fox is. So, I did what everyone does these days...I googled "Swamp Fox". Did you know there is a Native American flute called a Swamp Fox Flute? There are also knives, restraurants, movie theaters, an Ocean Resort, a Revolutionary War officer (Francis Marion), and a Disney T.V. show that starred Leslie Nielson (which was actually based on the life of Francis Marion). But where did the term come from? If you have heard any legends or have any ideas about what a Swamp Fox is, we would love for you to mention it in your log.
You are seeking an ammo can in the woods! It should not be difficult, other than the fact that there are so many places to hide it! The tree coverage may affect GPSr accuracy. We took multiple GPS readings over four days and averaged the readings.
First and Second to find may claim a prize...everyone else, we ask that you please trade equal or trade up.
We will try to keep it well stocked, but initial contents include a Swamp Fox plush toy (he is too cute), keychains, pens, pencils, and other various items.
This cache is placed with permission. There are some No Trespassing signs in the area, but again the cache is placed with permission. You are not trespassing so long as you are seeking the geocache during the campus' open hours. The No Trespassing signs will hopefully be removed soon and replaced with new signs ("no hunting" signs and "fishing restrictions" signs).
