Greetings,

It has been a while since I first looked at this cache. I can't find any recent responses about maintaining this cache so for the time being it will be archived and removed from the active cache listings. We are no longer leaving caches stay disabled for extended periods of time.

Groundspeak and the geocaching community appreciate your contributions to geocaching and I hope to see this cache back in operation soon.

If you can get it back up and running in the next week or so contact me to get it re-listed. Otherwise plan to move it slightly and set up a new cache page.

Glenn

NOTE: If you "found" this cache after March 14, you didn't find it.

The cache was muggled and removed in early February, 2015. Unfortunately, I was out of town and not able to immediately replace the cache container. Before I could get a new container in place, I received several "finds". I verified that the container was in fact still missing as late as March 14. Interestingly, as MOGA drew closer, someone "replaced" the missing cache. I say "replaced", because they had no way of knowing if it was missing, or if they were in fact in error on where they "knew" it would be. And as mentioned earlier, the container was gone when people were logging a find.

Whether it is a difficult cache or one as simple as this one, it is very unfortunate that some people feel like they can record a find when in fact there was no container, or they are so confident in their skills that this HAS to be the spot, and therefore they will put a log in place so that they can record a find and move on. I have received notes before saying that a container was missing a lid, or the log was full, etc…and the cacher was kind enough to do whatever maintenance was needed. That I admire, and we try to do that as well as we cache. However, placing a container and log where you are certain it should be and not notifying the CO is wrong. Even more so, finding a cache that has no container and signing a log that doesn't exist? Just plain wrong in every way. MOGA brought a great number of cachers to caches in our area, which is great to see. But seeing so many people find a missing cache is just wrong. Period.

I can't determine who decided to act as CO and put the log in place, but these ids recorded a find on this cache when the container had not been replaced by me:

It's sad that someone feels like they can take matters in to their own hands just so they can record another find.

This is a quick park-and-grab cache, but we'd like to ask if you would spend a minute and take your picture in front of the beautiful fountain at Henderson and Broadway. If you choose not to take your picture in front of the fountain, we hope you will still share a picture with us.

Please be careful crossing Broadway!

The cache is a small preform. You don't need to leave the pavement, and it is completely wheelchair accessible. Please bring a pen or pencil to sign the log, and please put it back in the exact same spot where you retrieved it. Permission to place this cache was given by the Director of Facilities Management.
