In keeping with the tradition of Fools Rush In, I give you another epic journey. The thing I enjoy most about Geocaching is “It is what you make it.” From the heady rush of a FTF, the joy at completing a long series, a quick PNG, a mind numbing micro tossed into the brambles, or even the lowly skirt lifter, it is what you make it.
For me, It’s all about the epic journey. The Smiley face. The monopoly series. My never-ending maddening quest for the FTF trophy. All of them journeys in their own right. Living in Houston we’re confined only by the sheer flatness of the terrain and our own imagination. For that, I give you another EPIC JOURNEY.
This one is similar to Fools Rush in but without the handy roadbed. Oh sure, you’ll jump on Google Earth and think you see a short cut but please be forewarned, do so with great caution. I didn’t quite hit the geographic center of the area but when I got to where I was going, for some reason it just seemed like the time to stop. The areas is subject to severe flooding and as there are no easy paths in, again, bring your best woodcraft. Enjoy the walk, test yourself, and have fun. After all, that’s what it’s all about.
The FTF for this journey is the primo pick from an ammo can that is chock full of goodies. I loaded this thing with some really neat outdoor swag. Please, if you can, bring something that makes your journey through woods that much more enjoyable.
