The City of Chelsea was so pleased with our Fall CITO Event at
Pierce Park downtown that City Manager John Hanifan suggested we
hold another one in the spring, this time at Timbertown Park.
Timbertown, located just north of historic downtown Chelsea, is
known for its humongous play structure built of wood, but the park
grounds are also used for many other purposes. One thing's for
sure: nobody will get bored CITOing here!
We'll meet at the Timbertown parking lot at 1:45 PM to distribute
garbage and recyclables bags (bring those grabbers if you've got
them!) and to split up into groups to go out and conquer the
grounds. We estimate that clean-up should run from 2 PM to 4 PM,
but of course you're welcome to leave before that!
Young geocachers are of course welcome, as the park's namesake
play structure is a huge draw. Take a moment to stroll around the
community farm plots, admire the bat boxes, walk a nature trail,
and look for the handful of caches located in this park.
We'll supply the bags, bottles of water, and donuts; we'll also
have some trackables for discovery and a TB box for anyone who
wishes to pick up, drop off, or trade trackables.
We hope you'll plan on joining us... we've had to reschedule
this event from our original date thanks to those May storms. We
hope you'll be able to make it for the new June date!
