Geocache Description:

The Arkansas Geocachers Association is
having a cache in trash out event Sunday June 5th at

Come join in on the fun as we give back to our beautiful state and fantastic
state parks system for all their support of geocaching in Arkansas.

Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and we should conclude around noon. Trash bags will be provided, but gloves or other personal protective equipment is recommended. We will be doing something a little different this year. After all the recent rains the lake level has risen quite dramatically and in the past weeks has gone down quite a bit leaving lots of litter and debris along the shoreline. Susan Adkins, park interpreter and our host for this event, will again be taking out the big barge to cleanup around the lake shore. Another group, led by IdRatherBeHiking, will work on clearing the Dogwood Trail to get it ready to be reopened. The flower beds around the visitor center could also use some work. So bring all your saws, loppers, gloves and whatever else you might need and join us in giving back to this great park that has done so much for us in the past.
Alert:
Due to the recent storms in the area the trails in the park will be closed until the large number of trees can be cleared.

ArkGeo members who attend this event will receive 150 reward points.

NOTE: This is summer time in Arkansas.
Please remember to bring your insect repellent and sun screen.

The park has given us permission to camp in the area adjacent to the visitors center near where we will have the event tent set up. No reservations are required, but please let us know if you are planning on camping with us.
