Cache is a small box with a log and pen and a few small swaps.
Windy Gap car park and picnic area.
Windy Gap in the heart of Co Down, lies on the eastern slopes of Slievenaboley Mountain and forms a watershed between several types of landscape.
Buzzards are commonly seen gliding over this area. In spring and early summer you can hear the Skylark singing as they fly.
The views of the Mourne Mountains from here is fantastic, even on a misty day.
We have hidden this cache to replace a previous one by Cowood, with their kind permission, as it is the most beautiful place and deserves to be appreciated.
There are picnic tables all with spectacular views over the Mourne Mountains and bins in the car park for the remenants of your lunch. Across the road you may notice an hedge which looks out of place. Up the small track is a beautiful little religious garden worth a quick visit but please be respectful.
