The cache is a bright orange waterproof match container with just a “bit” of camouflage.
At one time the Santiago Creek supported a population of steelhead trout. On the rare occasions that there is clear water flowing in the creek it is easy to stand at the bottom of these stairs and imagine you could catch one of those ghost fish by casting a line “just over that rock”. These days if you want to catch a fish in the waters of Santiago Creek you will have to travel up stream to Irvine Lake.
