Geocache Description:

The last in the series apart from the mystery. Here all facilities are available including barbeques, toilets, shelter and parking so I'd strongly recommend a picnic or barbeque here or at any number of other delightfull places in the area.

Whitfield

The terminus of the line. Whitfield was the most distant narrow gauge station from Melbourne. (Located 30 mile, 27 chain from Wangaratta)

There was a goods shed, a waiting shed and office and a locomotive shed which still stands today although I notice the white ants have been chewing on a few structural beams so it’s longevity might be coming to an end unless someone steps in with some major refurbishment works.

I can remember my father building a cabin frame for one of our tractors in this very shed when I was much younger.
