The main purpose of this cache is to encourage a long exploration of this stretch of the Dorset coast. Its just outside the Steamer Point Nature Reserve.
In recent years a new footpath has opened between Steamer Point and Highcliffe Castle. So along this stretch you can walk one way "on top" and then return along the beach (or vice versa)
You can do this cache as a "cache and dash". There is a nearby car park at N50 44 088 W001 43 529, free October to March, or before 10 & after 7.
If you are only doing this cache and want a more interesting walk, there is free road parking at N50 44 423 W001 43 113 year round. If you cross the main road (take care, but there is an island) you will be on a public footpath across a golf course. This leads into the Nature Reserve and then the Cache.
This site explains a bit more about the cache location:- http://www.srde.co.uk/SRDE/About_SRDE_intro.htm
But please take care - especially in summer - as this is a very popular area. You may find a pin or tweezers very useful! Thanks.
