Geocache Description:

My 1st cache and what fun. Take time to sit and enjoy your surroundings. GZ is very close, so don’t give up

A normal size cache. It’s well hidden so please make sure to hide it well.

Accessible 24/7 The terrain is a little difficult due to the proximity of a river. Night time cachers are better off waiting for daylight. Children must be supervised by an adult for safety.

Accessible by walking, cycles, horse. But once you are close you will need to be on foot.

Inspired by Pappy47's first cache (my son and his family) I decided to place my own with their help.

This cache is placed in memory of my eldest son who left us un-expectedly in Jan 2006. He use to walk these fields over 40 years ago and this place is one of the many where he would stop to throw sticks or stones into the river. Later in life he went to South Africa where he kept hold of his love for the outdoors. We visited him many times but he had never forgot the place he loved as a child. The cache name is in memory of his place in the guiness world records for taking part in the scout tiddlywinks game way back in 1971.

we are lucky now that woodland trust have the land surounding our village and with hundreds of trees being planted each year the area is becoming a wonderful woodland for everyone to enjoy for many years to come.

Sitting here on what would have been his birthday is both sad and happy. To think of his early days being a real outdoors person I know he would approve of this wonderful online treasure hunt as it helps to get families out into the open air and enjoy walks in beautiful surroundings. Something which is missing all too often in modern family life.

I have had so much fun learning about and taking part in Geocaching. Placing this cache has been such fun. I hope you all enjoy the hunt and take time to sit and enjoy our lovely surroundings. maybe you will return to try some of our many walks. Pappy47 and I both intend to add more caches over the coming years so keep an eye out for them to be published and please let us know what you think of our caches or if you have any ideas to help us.

take care and enjoy. Perhaps you could take a photo of yourselves away from the cache to put on our page. it would be nice to see how many people & their pets get to share our place over time. You never know you might bump into us while out caching one day.
