Geocache Description:

The cache... After spending many months caching on Crete I have been striving to create a "5" STAR difficulty cache..... And I think I have finally done it... So for you cachers out there, here it is...



You keep reading the cache page debating on whether or not to go out to this cache....and then.... you go! So here it is. You wake up and head towards, Chania and you think since this is a Hoovs@itude cache what do I bring....maybe some tools....flashlight.....hmmmm what else??? Do you think we will need a good pair of hiking shoes… it is only a 2 Star terrain...



Then you go… Now I don’t know how far you have to drive but you could also hit a few other caches in the area if you still have time, like the “Evergreen”, “The Hideaway in Sternes”, and maybe the Real Tree Camo … well there are many caches on the peninsula of Akrotiri. Now whether you are coming from Rethymno or Chania you will need to find your way to the Akrotiri Peninsula. Coming from Chania, just follow the airport direction and turn to the village of Kounoupidiana. Just short before entering the village and in neighborhood to the Politechnio, you will see Kounoupidiana and the wide area of Akrotiri that offers a complete range of facilities to satisfy all...

Luxurious hotel resorts, family owned apartments for rent, picturesque taverns, water sports, playgrounds, fitness centers, and a few bars for intense night life...

The town of Chania is only a 20 minutes away, organized excursions, car rentals and even more can be found in Akrotiri...

The friendly and hospitable character of the local people is paramount in every step you take in this lovely place...

Drive to the 1st Way Point turn off which is N35.32.134' E024.05.221', then you will reach the 2nd Way Point turn off of N35.31.789' E024 05.511' then you can park at N35.31.894' E024.05.475' on your way now you will come to a gate at N35.31.922' E024.05.502. The sign says "Please Close Gate"... To the Cache...

Once you reach the area of the cache, you will see an old church and some ruins which I don’t have any information on, but this is when the search begins. Good luck and should you find then a “Congratulations” will be in order, just please put back as you found. Some dedication and thinking will bring you a “FIND”...
