Geocache Description:

This place isn't saturated with caches yet and your search for this small cache may take you to a different corner of the Scripps Wildlife area than you may have been to before. After the Washoe drive fire, the road was closed, but gate is open now making it basically a park 'n grab. vegetation is recovering from the fire and the birds are coming back.

Bring your binocs and be stealthy and you may be rewarded with the sight of some unusual birds while slinking around the brush here seeking this cache - unless you surprise one of the other frequent visitors - duck hunters! Then you might be greeted by the sound of a shotgun blast.
Enjoy the area - maybe you'll like it enough to return for a birdwalk or a picnic - there are even nearby "restroom facilities."
The sage habitat has been thinned a lot by the fire but there is still some, and the willows are thick, and I was pleasantly surprised to find harriers, several species of ducks, gulls, and quite a few other birds still in abundance after the fire.
