Geocache Description:

Barrow Way - Carriglead Lock

This walk along the river Barrow between Graiguenamanagh and St Mullins is my favourite part of the much longer Barrow Way. The Barrow Way is a 100km plus, long-distance walking trail, divided into 10 sections each representing roughly a half days walking. The trail starts in Robertstown in Co Kildare and ends at St. Mullins in Co Carlow.

This cache is part of a series placed along the last/first section between Graiguenamanagh and St Mullins. This cache is placed near Carriglead Lock, the oldest lock on the Barrow navigation system. It is quite near a beautiful and impeccably kept lock keepers cottage which overlooks the lock. Please replace the cache container as you found. Stealth is required as this is a busy walk way.
