UPDATE: The other 2 caches have been archived. The YANKEES answer was "C". The DIAMONBACKS answer was "E". Also, the eastern route is now cut off due to private property. You'll need to choose a different direction, but it is still reachable.
I've had the pleasure of living in the Phoenix area since 2001. I moved here from Seattle, which some of you may know, hasn't had a great history of baseball success (they had some good years, but overall - not so great). I was glad to see the opposite when I moved here (at least for that one year). When I moved here, all of my friends and co-workers were talking about the 2001 World Series and how excited they were to watch the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the New York Yankees!!!
Most people want a World Series to always go to a game 7 and love watching that final game. Not me! I do enjoy the final game, but I always like watching game 1. It really positions what to expect out of the series I'm about to watch. With this mindset, I watched game 1 of the 2001 series and was excited to see the Yankees lose (apologies to any Yankess fans out there, ever since I saw fans in Yankee Stadium throw D cell batteries at Ken Griffey Jr, I have had a severe dislike for that team).
Where was I? Oh yes - game 1. I really enjoyed watching game 1, especially the first inning. I am of 2 minds about who my favorite players were from each team though. Perhaps you can help remind me by finding my other 2 caches Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees (look for the letter A-E written on the top of each logsheet).
For the Yankees, it was either:
A = Brosius, Posada and Mussina
B = Justice, Brosius and Jeter
C = Jeter, Mussina and Brosius
D = Soriano, Knoblauch and Williams
E = Jeter, Brosius and Martinez
For the Diamondbacks, it was either:
A = Finley, Sanders and Counsell
B = Grace, Womack and Schilling
C = Schilling, Miller and Gonzalez
D = Gonzalez, Sanders and Grace
E = Sanders, Finley and Williams
