The Pacific Coast Railway was a wonderful 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge railway in the Central Coast of California, that ran betwwen 1873 and 1941. Originally a 10 mile (16 km) link from San Luis Obispo to Avila Beach and Port Harford, it later built southward to Santa Maria and Los Olivos, with branches to Sisquoc and Guadalupe....
This small road pretty much parallels the route of the old railroad here. There was a spur that came off to the west for the bituminous quarry nearby......
