Geocache Description:

Small pot containing log only situated at the Ston Easton end of a lay by.Could probably be grabbed from the car window! No need to move off the road surface.

Please be careful of the nearby barbed wire.

You need to bring your own pen or pencil to log. Please rehide carefully.

Following the short move from Nedge in 1999 Ston Easton has hosted the annual fixture each March. This year's meeting is on 27th March so the cache could be pretty hard to retrieve on that afternoon as the lay by will be full of cars avoiding the entry fee!

The course erecting takes place over the couple of weeks before the meeting and within a very short time after the meeting the course is returned to farming.

The course is situated alongside the A37 just to the south of the village of Ston Easton which is about 5 miles north of Shepton Mallet and 13 miles south of Bristol.

This is an undulating course over old pasture.Featuring a downhill back straight and uphill home straight. Races held over three miles comprise of 2 ½ circuits. The fences are well built but portable and are constructed within a traditional frame.

The course is right handed and features 7 fences including an open ditch. The 3 mile races have 18 jumps whilst the 2.5 milers feature 15.
