The cache is quite small, holding only and barely a small, small log scroll, which is tricky to retrieve, when the cacher before you did not put the small metal pin correctly back in place. It is somehow camouflaged and fits into the area, so that it might be difficult to find. It is not hidden were cars are allowed to drive, so no need to walk around in the middle of the street!
Cachers are encouraged to publish pictures to documents the transition of the area!
People have been living in the area around Gjønnes since the stone ages – and it looks like there will be still people living her in the ears to come. This cache is not about the old farming area Gjønnes Gård, which deserves an own cache, but to document the changes happening to this area.
Farming is on the retreat from Bærum and the area around Gjønnes station just another example. Lately the farming activity was producing rolled sod to create a nice lawn in no time. Parts of this area will now be devoted to new houses, kindergarten, roads, the new Gjønnes station for the metro to Oslo and a big parking area for the commuters, using the metro to get to their work.
There were discussions about the conversion of yet another green, open area and possible food production area for times, when food might become more expensive and scarce, but in this case the combination of housing, close to public transportation and the obvious benefits from this weighed higher.
So cachers, the constructions in underway, take pictures and documents what is going on!
