Geocache Description:

The cache is located approximately 16 metres off the bridleway that runs from Forge Bridge to Doctor Bridge.

The cache itself is a small waterproof container containing: log, eraser, pencil and sharpener (please dont remove the latter two items)

Thanks to the Landowner for granting permission to place the cache at this location and the N.T.Warden (Eskdale & Duddon).

The Roman Road up the valley, from the supply port of Ravenglass to Hardknott Fort and beyond, was an important route, particularly during the early period of the Roman occupation. The actual route has been a hot-bed of controversy for more than eighty years, and whether it is based on the route which follows the road route up the valley or the bridleway on the south side of the River Esk is still open to debate (hence Roman Way?)
