Über das Schnabeltier Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Bunjil: I cannot see any information that suggests to me that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement - one or more of the following applies:

             - Cache Owner unable to maintain cache
             - No response from the cache owner.
             - No cache to find or log to sign.
             - It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.
             - Cache has been abandoned by cache owner

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to also prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the next 28 days, just contact a reviewer (by email and include GC number in Subject), and assuming it still meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you wish to replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Geocache Description:

An nice little walk no matter which way you approach it. Do watch your step though the views are surely worth it.

Note: Please don not scramble down from the road. There are four suggested waypoints for accessing this cache. I recommend a combination of Trail 2 and Trail 1 from the south or Trail 4 from the north. Feedback on the accuracy of these co-ordinates would be appreciated.

As a child we frequented Fairfield Park quite often. On one particular occasion we crossed the foot bridge and walked along this very trial to Chandler Hwy. Somewhere along the way my friend and I thought we had seen platypus footprints in the mud (quite possibly using our imagination). Hence the name for this cache "Über das Schnabeltier", , suggesting there might be platypuses around. I don't know if there really are any though. :)

More recently while trying to avoid a nearby hill while out on my push bike I came up with the idea for this cache. I don't recommend riding along this trial and accept no responsibility if you decide to do so. You would probably need a mountain bike or a very sturdy hybrid if you do decide to ride it. Be warned that there is a substantial drop in places if you do ride.

That said I think the trial is quite safe for walking, not overly rough and sufficiently wide. Just take extra care of any children. I also advise sticking to the tracks. There's no need to leave the path for any great distance.

The cache itself is a 2L Sistema with a unique camo thanks to °. No need to leave the track now. Please ensure you stay on the designated tracks to avoid environmental damage.
