This is not meant to be a hard series and most are real easy caches. Just in case someone has a problem, I have given a hint that will automatically make the cache a 1 or 1-1/2 star difficulty. Hope you have fun and please watch out for the crazy drivers out this way. I have pretty well placed these in areas where you can pull off the road real well.
You are looking for a unused medical speciman container!
Where this cache is placed is the old site of Cold Spring that was built by the CCC back in the 30's. There was a chute coming down the hill, from the spring head, to this distribution point and was some of the sweetest water I have ever tasted. About 15 years ago, someone bought this land and I guess they didn't want anyone drinking from the spring, I assume due to their liability, so they removed it.
This road (originally named the Mt. Ida Road back in the late 1800's) from Ferndale to Paron was renamed by my Dad about 45 years ago, as the "Redneck" Pig Trail. Yep, there were quite a few "wild" type folks out in this area in years past. It is now getting more and more folks from town buying up land and building some pretty nice homes.
Wanted to place this series to match up with QuartzCachers' Weyerhaeuser 24000 Road and Main Haul Road series. So now you can pretty well cache from Ferndale all the way to Hwy 7 and beyond.
Enjoy!!!
