Geocache Description:

Thursday night (March 15, 2007), fire claimed the last remaining piece of a section of railroad on the north side of the American River that fully collapsed into a heap of burning timber and red-hot iron.

The fast-moving fire, quickly consumed about 200 yards of heavy-duty trestle timber and tracks in the secluded section of this parkway. It's all been replaced with metal and concrete trestles now. The fire was set intentionally and cost over 25 million to reconstruct.

You can park at either Sutter's landing or Glenn Hall park to hike or bike to this cool cache. Nice trails and scenic views will enhance your adventure for this find. Enjoy!

Congrats to "Schooltch & the Brat" for the FTF!!
