Geocache Description:

A Tour of Norton sub Hamdon

Go to the above co-ordinates, which are for the Manor House, built 17c, and now in multiple occupation.  Across the road and a little to the east is the Old Coach House, built 18c.  Both of these are Grade II listed buildings, along with another 62 buildings and monuments in Norton.  Find the 3 numbers after the letter C, and add them together.  Let this number = A

Now go to N50 56.408 W02 45.405, the village centre, and discover how many miles are shown to Stoke Sub Hamdon.  Let this number = B

Now go to the medieval Pill Bridge, listed, of course, at N50 56.356 W0245.276.  How many footbridges are there between here and N50 56.336 W02 45.326? Let this number =C

The village pub is the Lord Nelson, also listed, noted for good beer and food.  Go to N50 56.360 W02 45.180 and discover the number for Chinkwell Buddle.  Let this number = D

Go to N50 56.382 W02 45.078.  Some more of Norton's listed buildings. (History being what it is, we could have been the Norton Bunnies instead, if an offer we placed on one of these in 2003 had been accepted!). What's the difference between Tulip and Pump?  Let this number = E

A little walk now to N50.56.346 W02 44.668, find CIVIC and let the first number of seven = F, and the sixth number = G.

Another short walk to N50.56.313 W02 44.546, Little Norton Mill, built 1782, no surprise to find this is listed, and has been restored.  The wheel is 4m in diameter, and has elm buckets.  There is a footbridge in front of the wheel.  How many upright supports on the footbridge handrail are there?  Let this number = H.

Now off to the cache, which can be found at N50 5(2E+H).FAB W02 4(A-C-F).(D-F+H)GC

FTF Prize is a voucher for a free dessert at the Prince of Wales

(Now we know that some cachers will resort to using StreetView in an attempt to find some of these numbers before even going to Norton sub Hamdon.  Stoke Bunnies would never use such underhand methods. (What never? Never! What never? Well, hardly ever!).  Good luck to you if you try that out, you'll maybe get some, but not all.  It's been tested)
