Geocache Description:

This cache is a tribute to my friend "Active by Nature" (AbN). The word ACTIVE is a most fitting word to describe her as she is always active in one of her many interests and hobbies.

According to the dictionary, the word ACTIVE is an adjective meaning "To be in physical motion or involving or requiring physical exertion and energy". It is also used to describe a person "marked by or involving direct participation".

For anyone who has met Active by Nature, you know that she is a special person. Her passions include walking and getting outdoors, and she is well known locally to cycle to caches rather then drive, leaving a zero carbon footprint when possible.

I had the pleasure of accompanying my friend on a trip out west, where we camped our way to the Best of the Bad Mega event in Three Hills Alberta. Along the way we enjoyed visiting some of the spectacular scenery northern Ontario has to offer, stopping for a few caches along the way. One of the highlights of the trip was a canoe event GC2NVPJ organized by the Best of the Bad committee. Canoeing, hiking, geocaching, Nordic walking, and camping are also passions of AbN as well as being a talented scrabble player.

I thought I would create a little puzzle based on some of my friend's interests and people who have inspired her. Simply figure out the words that you need to fill in the grid and solve the puzzle.

These are in no particular order, so it is up to you to find the word or words to fill in the grid in the proper order.

1.  Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod brought this government program to our attention during the 70's and 80's?

2. According to the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines established by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) for youth 12-17 years, _________   minutes a day can make a difference.

3.  One of AbN's favorite athletes, this person holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of British Columbia, is in the Guinness Book of Records, Canada's Sports Hall of Fame,  and was Secretary to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

4. According to Canada Walks, there are six key elements essential to making a community walkable.   Find the one that fits.

5. Colin Harris spent 2011 running 7,600 kilometres across Canada as part of this organization's initiative.

6.  Who said   "I'm not a dreamer, .......but I believe in miracles."?

7. Which well known Canadian academic and broadcaster earned a Ph.D in zoology from the University of Chicago in 1961 and has a twin sister named Marcia?

Insert your answers in the grid and assign a value to the letters highlighed.

Congratulations to Active by Nature and GPS Derek for a team approach to solving this puzzle and making the FTF
