Geocache Description:

Caution: During certain times of the year this Cache area can be heavily covered with Poison Ivy. Cache is easily accessible from river access parking area at the junction of Rte 3 and Rte 107, in the Bellepoint neighborhood outside of Hinton.

Look off the ground and around old concrete structures. Some vines may be growing over the cache during the warm months.

This site is at the confluence of two very wild and unique Eastern rivers. The New River flows northward through NC and VA before reaching WV. It is considered to be the second oldest river in the world, and is well-known for its natural beauty and popularity with outdoor enthusiasts. The Bluestone Dam you can see on your left was built in the 30s and 40s as a federal flood control project.

The Greenbrier River, on your right, is the longest undammed river East of the Mississippi (173 miles in length). It originates in Pocahontas County, WV.

Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) are located at the confluence -- a sign is posted at the riverside -- which means that raw sanitary wastewater may be entering the river there during high rain events. In all other instances, this is an excellent spot to put in for a paddle or flyfish.
