Geocache Description:


Welcome to the Mt Gambier trash centre!
Near this location you have the option of:
Trashing out and cashing in - bottle recycling.
Trashing out and cashing out - waste transfer station at end of the road.
There used to be a salvage yard where you could take trash out but it has closed.

SA is the only state in Australia that offers a 10 cent refund on the return of empty cans and bottles. the Northern territory joined the scheme in 2012. It greatly reduces litter, helps the environment and is a great little money earner for the kids.

The cache is about 35mm size and well hidden in what might look a bit trashy but please respect it as it is quite old.
You do not need to climb on or under the item to retrieve the cache.
