Namesake Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This is the namesake cache, sitting atop Murphy Hill. There are many trails in the area, but none (that I have found) to the top of Murphy Hill.
The cache is a 30mm olive drab ammo box, and had several trade goodies when originally placed. After signing the log (no stickers please), please return the container to the same orientation and circumstances in which you found it.
The container is located on Murphy Hill public lands and site 50 on the North Alabama Birding Trail. The hike is approximately 2.4 miles from parking, depending on the route you take. Off-road vehicles are not permissible. Camping is limited to 14 days. Hunting is allowed according to Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources regulations, so be sure to wear hunter orange during deer season. See GC2NY44 for parking information.
Enjoy!
