Geocache Description:

It's Eagle Nesting Time Again

Notice
We have had to change the date on this one due to a conflict in Randy's Calendar.
The New Date will be April 23rd. All other details will remain the same.

Please Note the "Eagle Canyon" Bookmark to the right. You will want to load these caches.

Eagle Canyon is an adventure! If you have ever seen this steep canyon to the North East of Damonte High School and wanted to explore it, this is your chance.

There are several reasons for doing it this time of year including the heat. BUT the biggest reason is for the nesting eagles. There is at least one nest in the canyon that seems to be occupied every year. We have a definite possibility of spotting the Golden Eagles entering or leaving their nests. There are also a half-dozen great caches here for you to find.

The beauty of this canyon is that you can choose how far to go up it. Some of you may choose to "go all the way" to Diehard's Diversion" or "American Dipper" others may choose to stop at "Damonte Mustang" or "Come to Jesus." It is up to you. Kids are welcome. We have had 4 year-olds at "Eagle's Nest." We won't be in a rush and there will be someone with you whatever pace you choose.

We will meet at 9 AM at the "Rock Wren" cache (those are the coords listed for this cache). Enter through the gate at the coordinates listed below and park at the 90 degree right turn in the paved road near the starting point for this cache. Bring sturdy shoes, water, a small lunch, and perhaps a snack.
