A cache placed among the windmills over Nikithianos village, between Neapolis and Limnes.
This windmill complex is one of numerous on the whole island of Crete. People have always tried to take advantage of the strong winds and produce energy for their convenience.
Walking among the ruins of the old mills is interesting and the view from up there is beautiful. It’s also worth walking around the few renovated windmills by the parking place.
To get to the cache you have to park at the given coordinates. Note that this is possible only if heading eastwards, towards Agios Nikolaos. Then you must walk down the stairs, pass under the national road and follow your GPS. Good shoes are recommended.
In case you come across a metal wire fence, please, note that fences in Crete are meant for sheep and goats, not humans. Don't let such a fence stop you from searching for the cache. There is usually a gate which you can open and then close behind you. So, a fence is no problem with this cache.
The cache is a small plastic container wrapped in a plastic bag. It contains a pen, a logbook, the geocachig note and some goodies to trade. Be sure that no muggles from the village are watching you while searching and, please, hide it again carefully.
