Sweet Tooth Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

bomabound: The hiding spot seems to be a popular digging place for kids, and we aren't really comfortable anymore owning a cache hide so close to a playground.

Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES.

The actual cache is located at North 48 XX.XXX, West 123 XX.XXX.

This cache was originally going to be just a regular go-to cache. But when we arrived at the location to make the hide we ran into a peculiar woman out walking her dog. She seemed curious about what we were up to, and during our little chat she told us a story that gave us the chuckles….and almost (well, not really) made us look fondly on her little yappy yorkie. Our puzzle idea was inspired by her story.

Our short conversation was quite awkward because the woman’s crazy dog nips, so we had to keep our distance. Fortunately the little guy was distracted most of the time by the crows that seemed to be intentionally taunting him from up in the nearby fir tree. Anyway, the funny story that she told us was about how this silly little dog came to be named Big Hunk. Apparently the name is in reference to an attractive guy she met on a recent trip to Vegas while playing blackjack at some back-street place called the Orbitz. The man was a regular player there and on this particular night was betting with bottle caps that were of sentimental value to him. The bar owner said he could trade them back after payday. Pretty strange story to hear on a random meeting, but I guess she felt a need to explain why she was calling out her dog's name. We had a good laugh, told her it was nice to meet her, and were finally able to hide the cache once she left. As for her dog, well, fortunately for him we left the bazooka at home.

Hope you enjoy this little spot.
