Elephant Mountain just to the north. Please don't block the county road.
Local landmark Elephant Mountain is named for an escaped circus elephant that was captured here sometime in the early part of the 1900’s. My grandmother always told us that my grandfather had been a part of the searching party that found the elephant. The Stoner Ranch near here has been in the same family since 1884 and was featured in Texas Monthly magazine several years ago.
