Geocache Description:

Set in and around St Mary's Church, Harefield. Fairly steep hill in part; otherwise fairly flat but tendency to muddiness in damp conditions.

The clues are set in such a way that, in the event of being unable to access the church or the graves, then the relevant numbers are guessable. Parking can be had on Church path which descends from Church Hill to St Mary’s itself. Starting from the top of Church path. Add together the numbers of the bye-laws that come under the heading ‘Trespass’. Multiply this total by 2. Let the answer be AB. Descending the path and off to the left, find a plaque to a lady who died aged 89. Let C be the number of letters in her forename. D is the number of letters in the type of tree planted in memory of Van Duminy. The answer is 3 as it is either very well hidden or not there any more. Approach the main path to the church itself. It’s not for parking. Find ‘SV’ then subtract the top number from the bottom number. Let the answer be E. In the church itself is a spectacular monument to the Countess of Derby, whose father was John Spencer of Althorp, the family from which Diana Princess of Wales was descended. At the time of her death, the Countess lived at Harefield Place, then sited opposite the church. The inscription will give you her forename. Let F be the number of letters in that forename. Note the inscription over the arched entrance to the Anzac war graves. Arrange the length of each word in ascending order. Let G be the missing number. Enter through the arch and take a few moments to reflect. Find a plaque to ‘SW’ close by. Let H be the number of letters in his forename. 19JK is the year he was born.
