Don't let it Lick Ya #1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Please bring your own pen and either prior knowledge of the trail system or a map to ensure you do not get lost! Access this cache via the Post Oak Trail.

This is our first evil hide at Lick Creek and one of the toughest hides we have placed. Its not your standard Lick Creek "Tupperware in the woods" cache. While its not a new and innovative hide by any means (we've seen similar ones before, though not here), it is definitely much tougher than the other caches at this park.

***Congrats to Retired for FTF***

The size is listed as "other" on purpose, as giving it away could possibly lower the difficulty level of the cache.

If After you find this cache and sign the log, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you put everything back exactly how you found it - in the same position. You want other geocachers to have the same frustration challenge that you did, and not leave anything "showing" that could tip them off as to it's hiding spot.

The difficulty of this cache for the next seeker depends entirely on how you place the container back, so remember how it was before you move it!

There is a $1.00 "Where's George?" dollar bill in the cache for FTF! Its like a tracking bug system for money! Good luck!

Lick Creek Park is the premiere nature preserve in College Station. The 515-acre park, acquired in 1987, is located at 13600 East Rock Prairie Road approximately 1.5 miles from Greens Prairie Road. The park has several cultural sites along with a great diversity of plant and animal life including the endangered Navasota Ladies Tresses. Approximately 3.5 miles of marked trails provide a unique opportunity for hiking, cycling, bird watching and equestrian activities.

Equestrian users must obtain a permit and gate key from the Parks and Recreation Department in advance. Horses and bicycles are restricted to Post Oak Trail, Deer Run Trail and Iron Bridge Trail. The park is open to visitors throughout the year from dawn to dusk. No overnight camping is permitted and visitors are reminded to watch for snakes and to stay on the marked trails. Dogs may be leash-free but must be under “voice” control at all times. All plants and animals are protected and should not be harmed or threatened. Please report any problems or issues to the City of College Station Parks and Recreation Department at (979) 764-3486.

As with any hiking, we also recommend you bring a bottle of water and a small first aide kit. This is especially important if you plan to do some of the caches farther away from the parking area, or plan to spend a few hours out here getting several of Lick's geocaches. Be prepared!
