This is the ninth of eleven caches set close to Avening.
At the end of the wood go through the gate. Follow the grass track down to a gate and continue ahead past the farmhouse. Walk with the well built wall on your left, past the interesting garden and out onto the field. Keep the same direction towards a post on the skyline and then aim for the gate ahead, this leads to a muddy track when wet for part of the way. Follow this path with a wall on the left and a hedge on the right. In 50 yards there is a fine view of Gatcombe Park to your left. The track gradually improves as it bears left down to a lane which goes down to the main road.
Sadly there is no footpath to cache #10, and you have to follow the track, lane and then main road to get to it. We had to resite it after being placed originally as it was too near other caches in the area. This was the only place that met the relevant criteria.
