For many years I worked in Rockville Centre, Long Island and commuted from New Jersey.
Aside from the immensely terrible drive each day, I was constantly reminded by my co-workers that New York was the cultural center America. Each day they touted the vast and bountiful access that “the city” provided to food, entertainment, the fine arts, music, literature and especially theater.
So, each day while I was being exposed to this propaganda, I could barely keep from bursting out laughing because of the exotically nasal long Island accent. It was so hard to keep a straight face when we were talking about “cult-cha”.
So to prove them wrong, when you get this cache maybe you will be able to take the opportunity to see that culture is alive a well in the suburbs of North Jersey.
Note: You cannot park on Route 287 to get the cache.
