THE MAGIC OF MOUNTWOOD (Nocturnal) #3
Mountwood Park is a county park located 12 miles east of Parkersburg, West Virginia on Route 50. The park contains over 50 miles of hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, campgrounds, a 50 acre lake, and wooded picnic areas.

Fishing:
Bass, trout, muskie, and catfish are just a few of the popular catches at the Mountwood Park Lake. Fish from the banks, rent a boat, or utilize the handicap accessible docks to enjoy a day at the lake. A fishing permit from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources is required. The marina is open from April 15 to October 15 from 10am to 6pm. Boat Rentals: Row boats, paddle boats, canoes, and refreshments are available for rental at the marina. The rates for boat rentals are $8.00 per hour or $30.00 per day. Cash, Visa, Master Card, and Discover are accepted. Please Note: Trolling motors only. Swimming is not permitted.
And now on with the cache. Beginning at Copperhead Trailhead, across the road from parking, you will work your way along the trail by following the lights in the night. All you have to do now is follow the lights until you find a bright red reflector. At that point your hunt begins. Fire tacks will lead you deep into the forest to the hidden treasures of Mountwood. After claiming the bounty, return to the red reflector and continue on the trail to the next large red reflector. A total of six red reflectors will be your goal for the evening. You will encounter many small stream crossings, switchbacks, and dangers on the trail as you work your way through the night to the final cache. Haunting cries of the times past can still be heard. The eyes of the night watch your every move. Beware and keep a constant vigil of your surroundings. NEVER loose the trail or you may wonder aimlessly about until the early morning light.
It should take close to 2 hours to complete.

1) May take up to 3.5 hours to complete
2) Bring lots of water if the temperature is on the rise.
3) After #6 cache continue on the trail to road. Turn Right, walk and turn right again at stop sign.
